Oliver, a member of the Fear the Lord Female Group in Agago District, enrolled for a Certificate in Early Childhood Education after previously losing hope of continuing her education due to lack of funds for Advanced Level studies. Through the ADRA Young Mothers’ group, she received SRHR education, counselling and support that strengthened her self-confidence, self-respect and motivation to pursue her goals.
After receiving her group savings, Oliver invested in her education and enrolled at Patongo Teacher Training Institute. She currently combines her studies with part-time teaching at a nursery school. Oliver has become a positive role model among her peers, encouraging other young mothers not to give up despite challenges. She continues to participate in her CBO and save regularly, demonstrating increased agency, resilience and commitment to improving her future.

CASE 2: From shamber boys to T.O.T’S
The young Mothers’ Project trained its beneficiaries on a number of skills. Out of the trained beneficiaries, carpentry and bakery beneficiaries mastered their skill very well and right now they are sharing their skills with their friends at the training centers established by ADRA Young Mothers’ Project. These carpentry benefiaries are making products like chairs, benches, tables among others which they are selling in the market. They are using the profits to open up gardens, pay school fees for their siblings. The bakery T.O.T’S make cakes, dough nuts, mandazi and these items are sold on retail and also distributed in the shops. These are also making profits which they are uising to save and also support family survival. All the above are acting as hange agents in the communties of Agago and Amuru district thus contributing to the sustainability strategy of the project.
