ADRA Uganda, ADRA Denmark, Opportunity Bank Uganda and FasterOikos are developing a blended financing model to improve access to affordable credit for refugee and host-community farmers in Kyaka II and Rwamwanja refugee settlements.
The partnership is being developed under initiatives including the From Savings to Sustainability (S2S) project and focuses on strengthening access to finance for community-based savings groups.
The proposed model will support Village Savings and Loan Associations (VSLAs) and Village Savings and Loan Federations (VSLFs) to access affordable credit for expanding agricultural activities and other income-generating businesses.
By bringing together development and financial partners, the initiative aims to explore new ways of connecting savings groups with suitable financing opportunities for agriculture and other livelihoods.
The partnership brings together ADRA Uganda, ADRA Denmark, Opportunity Bank Uganda and FasterOikos, a Danish cooperative bank, in an effort to strengthen financial opportunities for refugee and host communities in Uganda.
