Key Duties And Responsibilities

  •  Implement agreed project activities, decisions, and actions (programmatic and operational) as per plans and priorities
  • Carry out regular consultations, dialogues, information sharing, and feedback with relevant project and other key stakeholders
  • Participate in relevant events, forums, and meetings at community and school level
  • Contribute to capacity building of school and community
  • Support community and school mobilization, awareness creation and delivery of project activities
  • In liaison with MEAL Manager; support studies, assessments, and dissemination of learnings.
  • Prepare and submit periodic and activity reports.

 

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The applicant for the ADRA Community Support Assistant (education) job must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from a recognized university/Institution or Any Humanitarian course
  • At least three years of experience in education as a teacher or related programming
  • Experience working in multi-cultural context, refugee population and diverse contexts.
  • Experience in education related community-based programming, training, research is added advantage
  • Experience and abilities in using participatory techniques and learning
  • Ability to work well in and promote teamwork
  • Strong communication and reporting skills, both oral and written.

 

  • Good IT skills and knowledge of MS Word; Excel and Outlook required.

    Terms of reference for Policy Analyst – Land Advocacy issues

    Background

    ADRA Uganda is seeking the expertise of a skilled Policy Analyst to address and advocate for land related issues at the national level. The policy Analyst will play a crucial role in formulating, analyzing, and recommending policies that promote sustainable land use, equitable access and effective land management.

    Objective: The primary objectives of the policy Analyst include:

    1. Conducting comprehensive research on existing land policies, laws, and regulations.
    2. Identifying gaps, challenges and opportunities related to land use and access.
    3. Developing evidence-based policy recommendations to address identified issues.
    4. Engaging stakeholders including Government agencies, non-Government organizations and communities to gather insights and ensure the inclusion of diverse perspectives in policy formulation.
    5. Monitoring and evaluating the impact of existing land policies and proposing adjustments as necessary.

    Responsibilities: The policy Analyst will be responsible for:

    1. Conducting a thorough review of current national land policies and their implementation
    2. Analyzing data and trends related to land use, tenure and access.
    3. Engaging with relevant stakeholders including government officials, Civil Society Organizations and affected communities.
    4. Drafting policy briefs, reports, and other communication materials to convey research findings and policy recommendations.
    5. Participating in stakeholder consultations, workshops, and conferences on land related issues.
    6. Collaborating with other team members and experts to ensure a holistic approach to land advocacy.

    Qualifications: The ideal candidate should possess:

    1. A master’s degree in public policy, law, Environmental studies or a related field.
    2. Proven experience in policy analysis and advocacy, with a focus on land related issues.
    3. Strong research and analytical skills, including the ability to interpret complex data.
    4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    5. Experience working with diverse stakeholders including government agencies, NGOs and local communities.
    6. Knowledge of national and international best practices in land governance and sustainable development

    Duration and Location: The assignment is expected to last 2 months, with the possibility of extension based on performance and project requirements. The policy Analyst may be required to travel nationally for field visits and meetings.

    Reporting: The Policy Analyst will report directly to Advocacy/PR Manager, providing regular updates on progress, challenges, and proposed solutions.

    Terms of reference for Videography for Evidence Based Advocacy on Land issues in Karamoja.

     

    Objective

    To capture compelling visual content to support evidence-based advocacy efforts on land related issues in the Karamoja region.

    Scope of work

    1. Preproduction
    • Conduct a thorough research on prevalent land issues in Karamoja
    • Collaborate with local experts and community leaders to understand the nuances in the video.
    • Develop a detailed script outlining key points and stories to be covered in the video.

     

     

    1. Production
    • Utilize professional videography equipment to ensure high quality footage.
    • Capture interviews with community members, experts, and stakeholders to gather diverse perspectives on land issues.
    • Film relevant B-roll footage to visually support the narrative and highlight specific locations or situations.
    • Ensure sensitivity and cultural appropriateness in interaction with local communities.

     

     

    1. Postproduction
    • Edit the footage to create a compelling and informative video.
    • Incorporate graphics, statistics, and other visual elements to strengthen the evidence-based nature of the advocacy.
    • Provide a draft for review and feedback, making necessary revisions as per the project team’s input.
    • Add subtitles or translation for wider accessibility.

     

     

    1. Delivery
    • Provide final video in multiple formats suitable for various platforms (web, social media, presentations)
    • Include raw footage and project files for future reference or edits.
    • Ensure timely delivery as per the project timeline.

    • Preproduction, production, and postproduction with milestones for feedback and revisions will be after one and a half month from contract signing.

    • 15million to cover full package for equipment costs, travel expenses, statutory taxes and any additional resources require.

    • Coordinate closely with the Advocacy team, local partners, and stakeholders throughout the project to align the video content with the overall advocacy strategy.
