RISE Project Field Visit and Handover Update – Kyaka II Refugee Settlement

ADRA Uganda successfully conducted a field visit and official handover of the Resilience Enhancement (RISE) Project in Kyaka II Refugee Settlement, Sweswe, bringing together representatives from UNHCR, Office of the Prime Minister (OPM), implementing partners, local leaders, project staff, donors and community stakeholders.

The field visit provided stakeholders with an opportunity to assess project achievements and directly engage with beneficiaries. Visitors toured demonstration gardens and observed the impact of climate-smart agriculture interventions, including vegetable production, improved farming practices, and strengthened household resilience among refugee and host communities.

Implemented with support from LDS Charities through ADRA International, the RISE Project focused on improving food security, livelihoods, and resilience for vulnerable households. Key achievements included digital cash transfers to extremely vulnerable households, agricultural support to farming households, establishment of demonstration gardens and block farming initiatives, training of Trainers of Trainers (TOTs), and strengthening Village Saving and Loan Associations (VSLAs).

During the handover meeting, stakeholders appreciated the project’s contribution toward reducing household vulnerability, promoting self-reliance, and strengthening community structures for sustainability beyond project closure.

ADRA Uganda extends sincere appreciation to all donors, partners, government representatives, and community members whose collaboration made the successful implementation of the RISE Project possible.
