The announcement comes as Museveni has reaffirmed Uganda’s commitment and preparedness to contain the current Ebola outbreak, assuring the World Health Organization (WHO) that the country remains vigilant and ready to respond.
The Ebola Bundibugyo strain was first reported in eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) last month. On May 17, the WHO declared the outbreak a Public Health Emergency of International Concern, citing the growing risk of regional spread.
