ADRA Croatia has officially launched the “GROW Together by ADRA Croatia” project, aimed at strengthening food security and sustainable agricultural self-reliance in the Kyaka II Refugee Settlement in Uganda.
As part of the initial phase of the project, the Director of ADRA Croatia is currently visiting the project site together with colleagues from ADRA Uganda to oversee the launch of activities, meet beneficiaries, and participate in coordination meetings with local stakeholders and community representatives.
One of the first key milestones has been the successful selection of 50 Trainers of Trainers (TOTs) from both the refugee and host communities. The selected participants are begining comprehensive theoretical and practical training in sustainable agriculture, covering soil preparation, irrigation, fertilization, crop protection, harvesting, and basic marketing skills. Following the training, each TOT will transfer their knowledge and experience to at least ten households within their community. Through this multiplier approach, the project will directly support at least 500 households and improve food security and livelihoods for more than 1,500 beneficiaries.
Implemented in partnership with ADRA Uganda, the project represents an important step toward strengthening self-reliance, and creating sustainable income opportunities for both refugees and host community members.
This project is funded by the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Croatia.
