Another Inspiring Milestone from the STRENGTH Project

On 17th June 2026, Palabek Refugee Settlement hosted a special joint mission from our valued international and local partners. We were honored to welcome, Karina Lynge & Jon Kristiansen (ADRA Denmark), Henni Salmnaara (Danish Family Planning Association), Sarah Faith Kaingo & Oguttu Geofrey (Reproductive Health Uganda – RHU).

As core consortium partners in the STRENGTH Project (Strengthening Community-Based Climate Adaptation), this team visited Paluda Secondary School to see firsthand how community-driven disaster risk reduction is taking root.
The delegation had a vibrant, inspiring interaction with the School Management and the energetic students of the School Nature Club! These young change-makers are leading the charge in environmental stewardship, climate-smart awareness, and resilience. To crown a wonderful day, the team and students planted trees together—a living memory of partnership and a greener future.

About the STRENGTH Project

Running through 2025–2027, this initiative is dedicated to building resilience against climate shocks in fragile, displacement-affected contexts. By blending climate-smart agriculture, natural resource management, and rights awareness, the project empowers refugees and host communities—particularly women and youth—to adapt to climate change, secure their livelihoods, and reduce environmental loss and damage.
Thank you to everyone who made this monitoring visit a success! Together, we are planting the seeds of long-term resilience.
