Job Summary:   The Project Coordinator will primarily manage the project teams, ensure technical oversight and delivery of the different project components, prepares work plans and budgets, guidelines and supervises field teams, procurement, internal reporting, external liaison, among other duties.

Under the direct supervision of the Programs Manager, will ensure that activities are approved, implemented, monitored and reported according to agreed project plans in line with the donor and ADRA Uganda.

Project Implementation and Sustainability

  1. Take lead in project planning, management, budgeting, implementation, and monitoring of progress in line with donor requirements
  2. Responsible for financial cash flow planning and expenditure monitoring, approval of expenditures and related cost allocations, based on approved project budgets
  3. Human Resource Management for all project staff and volunteers under the program
  4. Supervision and periodical evaluation of the performance of the project staff
  5. Maintaining effective coordination and working relations with relevant stakeholders at the field level Including local government leadership structures, NGO forums at each district, local community leadership structures and Inter-Religious Council leadership at each district

Community Engagement and Advocacy

  1. Take the overall lead in the management and coordination of field level activities
  2. Mobilize and facilitate the engagements of stakeholders during planning and development meetings, workshops, and other fora
  3. Ensure integration of the project with other ongoing activities including that of ADRA Uganda and governments

Stakeholders Engagement, Networking and Collaboration

  1. Engagement with key stakeholders for influence, learning and resource development
  2. Actively represent ADRA Uganda in key inter-agency fora
  3. Engage and build relationships with key partners and government counterparts
  4. Work with the Programs Manager at the country office to identify partners who will support the implementation of the project within the Area Program

Documentation, Reporting and Knowledge Management

  1. Writes and submits comprehensive quarterly progress reports, and specific activity reports and any other reports when necessary to the supervisor in a timely manner
  2. Reporting – monthly and quarterly financial reporting, including the realization of activities versus budget utilization (providing input to) narrative and financial programme reporting
  3. Semiannual and Annual reviews of progress towards project objectives
  4. Take lead in documentation and sharing of Impact/success stories and best practices to promote learning
  5. Organize quarterly review meetings for partners and communities at the project sites to reflect on project approaches, tools, the impact of interventions, best practices, exit and sustainability strategies as well as create spaces and opportunities for action-learning

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  1. Must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in development studies, socio sciences or any other relevant course
  2. At least five years’ experience in field-based programme management roles
  3. At least three years experience in managing a project in a vulnerable community context
  4. Experience in Monitoring & Evaluation
  5. Familiar with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and the internet
  6. Experience in leadership, relationship management/networking, and coordination
  7. Knowledge of project cycle and related tools and methodologies
  8. Track record demonstrating high integrity, innovativeness, creativity, reliability and dependable
  9. Proactive personality, self-driven and strongly motivated
  10. Capacity building, training, and coaching skills
  11. Must be fluent in written and oral English
  12. Basic familiarity with the Luo language will be an added advantage
  13. Basic cultural knowledge of Acholiland, including the Districts of Agago, Pader, Kitgum, and Lamwo. Working experience with the Luo people will be an added advantage
